Official version of HD Doctor Utility for Seagate 7200.11 hard drive has been released

Today we have announced the release of the Official Version of HD Docctor Utility for Seagate 7200.11 family hard drives which helps to solve the problems of:

1)HDD Status stays BUSY;
2)HDD being detected with 0 in LBA;
3)HDD reports SMART error on startup.

All these problems now can be fixed without damaging the data (works for data recovery). Those will be the unique features which are only available in HD Doctor utility, no other similar tool is capable for solution before our release! We have been preparing to add these new capabilities into Data Compass as well, please keep an eye on our website for news.

We have already worked out the solution for bad sector repairing by adding them into the P-List; this feature for HDD repair only will be available in the next update.

-------------------------- Upgrade Log for HD Doctor for Seagate 3.0 --------------------------

1. Upgrade of the support list to include Barracuda 7200.11 family.
Before the barracuda 7200.11 being added into the support list, in CMD mode, the utility outputs no log information or messy code if users connect a Barracuda 7200.11 drive. Now by installing the upgrade version, after choosing drive family as Barracuda 7200.1, the utility will automatically adjust the Baud rate so that users can receive the correct display in CMD mode.

2. Unique feature in the world to repair Barracuda 7200.11 detected with 0 GB.
The problem that LBA is detected as 0 is a typical malfunction for Barracuda 7200.11. Such drives can be detected normally but the data area is inaccessible with LBA detected as 0. The version 3.0 adds the feature to recover such malfunction without damaging the data on the drive.

3. Upgrade solution for Barracuda 7200.11 malfunction that drive stays BUSY. Please refer to the user manual for detailed operations.

4. Adds the feature to get rid of CE LOG error.
The feature is intended for Barracuda 7200.8, Barracuda 7200.9 and Barracuda 7200.10 drives. The malfunction drive can be ready and detected normally, but it will be very slow in reading data from the drive. When being connected to HD Doctor console, the CMD utility will repeatedly output CE Log error message, which is the reason that causes the drive being very slow in reading data from. The version 3.0 adds the feature of CE Log Repair to remove such malfunction.

Latest update for Data Compass released today

Today we have released our update beta for Data Compass. The update included a new software named DCEXP (Data Compass Explorer) works with data Compass console for disk imaging, logical recovery, drive navigation and file extraction.

DCEXP adopts by-layer scan method. It was designed to scan the root directory only when scans one specific partition, thus the time needed to read the directory is greatly reduced. When user scans one specific folder in the root directory, DCEXP scans only the first layer of folders also, so on and on to allow the user a quick location of the folders and files he needs.

In practice, when the drive has severe bad sector caused by a falling or other physical problems, we suggest user to adopt DCEXP.

Remark: this is beta version which fully supports FAT partition only. More functions and applicability is being worked on. At the end of 2008, full support of NTFS partition will be added. As to other partition formats, HFS/HFS+/HFX will be ready on next February, and EXT2/EXT3 on next April. For more details please contact us directly.

Considering that some customers are still using the old products, we provide the free upgrade project for DOS version products until December 1, 2008.
